Manure spreader
Gehl’s new series of Scavenger V-tank manure spreaders offer improved performance with better spreading patterns than the original Scavenger, even when spreading heavily bedded manure.
A new round-core auger has segmented paddles that are grouped in a spiral pattern. This configuration breaks up and blends all types of manure, delivering more material to the discharge expeller in less time for faster unloading. Gehl’s Variflo discharge system is 33 percent wider on the most popular-sized unit. The expeller has been strengthened and features square-toothed paddles.

Pocket grain cutter
The Pocket Grain Cutter from D & M Engineering in England will be useful for farmers, brewers, grain merchants, grain dealers and others who need to do on-the-spot grain inspections.
The body of the cutter is made from lightweight aluminum and the cutting mechanism is a knife-action, stainless steel blade. The knife action allows the overall size of the cutter to be reduced to 145 mm in length, 33 mm in width and 18 mm in height. It weighs 150 grams.
Manufactured in three parts, held together and pivoted at one end like a jackknife, the cutter consists of an open upper tray with individual holes, an inspection tray and the blade which separates the two. The blade can be re-sharpened.
With the blade swivelled out, up to 50 kernels can be placed in the upper tray. The blade is then closed like a jackknife, cutting the kernels and sealing off the two trays from each other. The bottom tray, which is black to permit accurate examination of the kernels’ color and quality, is then swung out for inspection.
