Tractor blade

Leon’s Manufacturing has introduced the model 280 Rear Blade Unit for use with tractors with a maximum power take-off horsepower of 280.

It is designed for category II and III three-point hitches. The unit has hydraulic angling, tilt and offset controls. Operators can move the offset up to 115 centimetres (45 inches) and can angle the blade 45 degrees left or right. The blade tilts up to 15 degrees on either side for ditching and grading.

It also features a reversible, high carbon cutting edge of 13 by 152 cm, which is formed to the contour of the moldboard, designed and ripple formed to deliver precise cut and roll action.

VIDEO: Green Lightning and Nytro Ag win sustainability innovation award

Nytro Ag Corp and Green Lightning recieved an innovation award at Ag in Motion 2025 for the Green Lightning Nitrogen Machine, which converts atmospheric nitrogen into a plant-usable form.

Options include skid shoes and side plates. An optional solid rubber dual gauge wheel enables the operator to achieve smooth, uniform penetrating operations in softer conditions. It also prevents the blade from digging into the ground when driving in rough terrain.

Cutter attachment

Melroe has introduced a new Bobcat Brushcat rotary cutter attachment to mulch branches and saplings up to 7.5 centimetres (three inches) in diameter and cut through thick grass and brush.

The unit is designed for Bobcat 751, 753, 763, 773, 863, and 873 skid-steer loaders. It has double-edged blades made of reinforced steel. Operators can switch supply hoses at the drive motor to provide cutter rotation in either direction, providing longer blade life.

The hydraulic drive dampens impacts and eliminates the need for shear pins and drive clutches.

There is also a new Bobcat chipper attachment. Designed to fit Bobcat 763H and 863H models, the chipper handles tree limbs up to 12.7 centimetres (five inches) in diameter.

The feed system has a feed roller control with four positions, allowing the roller to pull branches into the chipper at a consistent, efficient speed.

Liquid flow measurer

FarmPro, a division of Beetronics Inc., has introduced the Field Totalizer for measuring liquid flow rates and total transferred volume to spraying equipment.

The portable system has a turbine flow meter combined with an electronic meter head to report flow rate in gallons or liters per minute, as well as total volume. It delivers accurate flow measurement over a wide range of fluid viscosity.

There are three sizes of stainless steel turbine meters (one inch, 1.5 in., 2 in.) covering flow ranges from five U.S. gallons per minute to 400 gpm.

The electronic meter head is housed in a PVC housing attached directly to the flow meter. It runs on 12 volts DC.

There is also a Field Totalizer for use with slurries and suspended solids.

Insecticide registration

Zeneca’s insecticide Matador has been granted additional registration for control of lygus bug in canola.

The product is already registered for use on grasshoppers, flea beetles, sunflower beetles, Colorado potato beetles, potato leaf hoppers and tarnished plant bugs. Control is effective whether the bugs come in direct contact with the spray or with residue on treated plants.

Matador resists wash off by rain, so residual activity can continue for up to 10 days or more, depending on the weather. The product does not hurt earthworms or soil micro-organisms.
