Products registered

Several chemical companies have received new registrations for their crop protection products.

Cheminova’s Glyfos has received approval for pre-harvest application to control weeds including quackgrass, Canada thistle, milkweed and sow thistle in wheat, barley, canola, flax, lentils, peas, dry beans and soybeans.

Cyanamid Crop Protection has two new tank mixes for Assert, a group two herbicide. It can now be mixed with Puma (group one) for use on spring wheat and durum for control of wild oats and wild millet/green foxtail.

Assert and Curtail M tank mix is designed for wild oat control and broadleaf weeds such as Canada thistle, sow thistle, stinkweed and wild buckwheat. The registration applies to spring wheat application.

DuPont’s post-emergent broad spectrum Accent herbicide has received registration for use on corn in Western Canada.

DuPont’s Champion Extra herbicide has been approved for use on barley for control of broadleaf and grassy weeds.

BASF has approval for its DyVel DS herbicide to be used in a tank mix with Puma Super on spring wheat.

For use in the brown soil region, DyVel attacks broadleaf weeds including kochia, and Puma at half-rate controls foxtail.

Novartis has received registration for Vanguard, a fungicide for controlling apple scab, blossom blight and brown rot in apples and stone fruit.

Tip openers

Dutch Industries has introduced a new series of wart knife and tip openers.

The Super Eagle Series has a side-banding configuration to place liquid fertilizer.

The wart knife and tip is a dual placement liquid and seed opener that uses the efficiency of the Dutch Impacto tungsten carbide tip.

Storage tank

Waters’ Edge Recreational Products is distributing Oil Safe, a double wall storage tank for collecting used oil for recycling or reuse.
