Grain cart
Unverferth has introduced the Brent Avalanche double-auger grain cart.
It has a low-profile design and height-adjustable unloading auger to reduce spillage.The dual augers unload grain at more than 600 bushels per minute. The speed comes from the 220 h.p. gearbox powering the 18-inch horizontal auger with thick edge flighting and a 20-inch vertical unloading auger.
There are two models. The 1084 handles more than 1,000 bushels while the 884 can handle 850 bu.
Units are available with a choice of wheels and high flotation tires, tracks or an innovative walking-tandem dual-wheel chassis for model 1084.

Horizon, BTM team up
Horizon, a wild oat and millet herbicide, is now available in a prepack with Buctril M, which is used to control buckwheat.
As well as grass and broadleaf weed control, including wild oats, wild millet, Persian darnel, barnyard grass and 27 broadleaf weeds, Horizon BTM also delivers crop safety with 30-minute rain fastness and a wide application window.
The prepack comes in premeasured 20-acre containers to simplify spraying and eliminate hassles with partly empty containers.
Horizon BTM is available for use on all types of spring wheat and durum.
Coccidiosis prevention
The Rumensin controlled release capsule is now registered for cattle as an aid to prevent coccidiosis caused by the Eimeria zuernil and Eimeria bovis protozoa.
These parasites attack cattle’s intestinal cells. Coccidiosis can cause dramatic performance losses and even death in cattle.
The Rumensin controlled release capsule delivers a daily dose of monesin independent of feed intake and is particularly suited to cattle on pasture where supplementing can be a problem.
A single administration of Rumensin controlled release delivers about 270 milligrams of monesin per day over 120 days.
In field trials, yearling crossbred heifers on pasture given Rumensin controlled release capsules exhibited lower parasite egg counts in their feces and better average daily gain, the company said.
Rumensin has long been used to reduce the risk of bloat in cattle grazing pasture and in dairy cattle to reduce the incidence of subclinical ketosis.

Poultry on-line
A new internet site has been designed for poultry producers and processors.
Poultryfirst.com is targeted at an American audience, but some of the information could be useful for Canadian producers. It has an e-commerce component allowing poultry products to be bought and sold by auction.
The site also has poultry industry news and developments, including research, product development and equipment advances.
Fertilizer website
Tiger Industries Inc. has started a website at www.tigerind.com that offers information on sulfur and micronutrient products.
The website includes the latest research, product specifications, application recommendations, material safety, data sheets and e-mail access to company representatives.
Tiger Industries makes and distributes Tiger 90CR, a degradable, elemental sulfur, and other sulfur and micronutrient fertilizers.
Thistle, wild oat control
Bayer has introduced a new Group 2 herbicide for control of wild oats and green foxtail in spring wheat.
Everest will be available in limited quantities this year.
The company said that last year Everest equaled or exceeded Group 1 standards in 97 percent of wild oat control trials. It also said that Everest controlled wild oats better than all existing Group 2 products.
For green foxtail, Everest performed as good or better than other Group 1 products in all cases. It also controlled wild oats and green foxtail resistant to groups 1, 3 or 8 that competitive products could not.
