Hopper topper
Kanzelman Repair makes combine hopper covers to fit John Deere 9400, 9500 and 9600 series combines, as well as Case IH 40, 60, 80 and 88 series combines. The covers can be left on while harvesting, as the unloading auger is left free to pivot.
The kit comes with an 18-ounce coated vinyl, fitted cover with twistlock fasteners and three push-in fibreglass bows and brackets. A filler plate for the unloading auger and all bolts are also included.

Versatile hydraulics
Atom-Jet Industries Ltd. of Brandon, Man., has developed a dedicated hydraulic system for Versatile four-wheel drive tractors manufactured in the late 1970s and early 1980s. These tractors lack the hydraulic capacity to run an air seeder or other farm machinery with a hydraulic motor application.
The system is installed directly on the tractor and operates independently of the tractor’s existing hydraulic system. The system can be controlled from the tractor cab and is adjustable to accommodate differing fan speed requirements. The operator can also lower engine RPMs, reducing operating costs. Parts and labor for the system are guaranteed for two years.

Software for dairy producers
AgPro software has introduced its enhanced Dairy Herd Management System called Dairyman 5.1.0. The program maintains extensive cow records for heats, breeding, health, vet check, dryoff, calving, embryo transfer and dispersal. It tracks semen inventory and has a four-generation pedigree for all herd animals. Dairyman records milk production (with graphs for the last three lactations) and can analyze the entire herd on all aspects of production or calving intervals.
Reporting features available (including Holstein Canada approved records) include daily/weekly action lists, direct offspring family tree, milk test day lists and complete vet check history. Dairyman is fully supported, with annual upgrades. The software is available for $695.
