Faster cattle feeding

Patz has introduced the 940 trailer-mounted auger mixer for large livestock operations.

The 1.16 metre (46-inch) wide discharge opening and three discharge augers deliver up to 5,000 pounds per minute for fast feeding. Tandem axles with spring-loaded suspension carry the load. The semi-trailer-type suspension reduces ton-gue weight while spreading the load evenly to all four tires. It has four 3Ú4 of a metre (30-inch) diameter augers and a circular mixing action to blend feed thoroughly.

Check fencing faults

Ferris Farm and Fencing has introduced the electric fence Power Probe.

Designed in Australia, the probe detects faults on large, permanent electric fences. The probe leads to the short by accurately measuring the current flowing in the fence’s live wire. Place the probe’s metal tip over the live wire. The unit will indicate whether you have a short and arrows point in the direction of the problem.

It can also be used to detect stray voltage around the farm in places such as livestock waterers.
