From truck to sprayer
Hy-Trux Ltd. has introduced a new chassis that turns a pick-up truck sprayer into a low cost, high-clearance sprayer.
The chassis fits half-ton, three-quarter ton and one-ton trucks, including extended cabs.
It is a two-piece frame that allows the unit to float over rough terrain for a smooth ride and low stress on the power unit. It doesn’t require modification to the truck and the company says conversion is simple and quick.
The rear truck axle is lowered and secured onto two mounting brackets that align the axle with a chain case input shaft. The drive cases are double-80 chain with a four-to-one reduction oil bath.

Bin alert
Bright Ideas Inc. has introduced Full-Alert, a unit that attaches to an auger and warns when a bin is almost full.
The control unit mounts at the bottom of the auger and the detector at the auger spout. When the detector notes that grain is approaching the top of the bin, it signals the control unit and it sets off a sound and light alarm.
The operator stops the flow of grain to the auger and allows it to empty itself.
The battery-powered unit is portable and can be used on other equipment such as air seeders.

Help against parasites
Ayerst Veterinary Laboratories has introduced a new endectocide to protect against internal parasites in horses, including bots.
“Quest is the first totally new parasiticide for horses to be introduced in Canada in more than a decade,” said Richard Donnelly, marketing director for Ayerst.
Quest Gel contains moxidectine, a broad spectrum compound that Ayerst says protects against egg reappearance and reinfection in the pasture twice as long at competing pastes. Eliminating pasture contamination attacks the source of reinfection.
It is designed to kill encysted cyathostomes while they are in the gut wall. This prevents them from emerging all at once, damaging the intestines and creating colic, diarrhea, bleeding and weight loss.
Quest is available only from veterinarians.
