Rotary cutter

Schulte Industries has introduced a new rotary cutter. Power delivery on the 6.15 metre (20 foot) 3020 is handled by a special 200 horsepower divider box. The box has output shaft angles set at 50 degrees, rather than the more common 40 degrees, resulting in short wing drive shafts that resist vibration. A higher cutting rate than conventional delta wing designs is achieved by the 3020’s unique drive layout. The centre blade is set at the rear and the wing blade set forward, resulting in a flat front on all three frame sections. Top and bottom cooling fins on the divider gearbox keep the machine running cool under maximum load in hot weather. Four plate slip clutches deliver power to the wings. The 3020 has moveable wheel standards allowing wheel spacing to be adjusted for 76 cm to one metre spacings or moved outward to create a wide centre section stance, helping stabilize cutting on slopes.

Nytro Ag Corp and Green Lightning recieved an innovation award at Ag in Motion 2025 for the Green Lightning Nitrogen Machine, which converts atmospheric nitrogen into a plant-usable form.

Double-acting cylinders, unlike single-acting cylinders, always have oil on both sides of the piston and cannot be damaged if foreign material enters the cylinder through the breather vent. Spacer plates at the back of each hydraulic cylinder allow changes to the working height and level of the machine.

Articulated 4WDs

Four new Versatile 82 series tractors from New Holland are powered by new Cummins diesel engines. The three largest models feature engines with step-timed fuel injections that automatically advance for starting and light load operation, reducing emissions and improving cold weather starting and idling. The 260 h.p. 9282 has an 8.3-litre engine; the 310 h.p. 9482 has an 11-litre engine; the 360 h.p. 9682 and the 425 h.p. 9882 both have 14-litre engines.

The tractors have ample torque rise with peak torque at low r.p.m.s, allowing operators to gear up and throttle back for best fuel efficiency without sacrificing reserve torque. New Hi-Flo hydraulics allow flow for both tractor and implement hydraulic needs. Steering flow is used to supplement implement flow in high-demand situations to four remote hydraulic valves.

Air seeders and other demanding hydraulic units are powered more efficiently with reserve power for end-of-field lifting and turning, and 12X4 Quadra-Sync transmissions offer four synchronized sequential ratios in three ranges.

Seven ratios are offered in the 4.8-12.8 km-h working range. A 12X2 power-shift transmission is also available for the 9482 and 9682 that provides clutchless, full-load shifting.
