The foundation to effective weed control, including herbicide resistant weeds, is to start with a weed-free field.
This means controlling existing weeds with a pre-seed/pre-emergent herbicide treatment.
Current research indicates that a pre-seed/pre-emergent treatment of glyphosate should include multiple tank mix partners using different chemical groups (sites of action) to delay and manage the start of new herbicide resistant biotypes.
The chart below presents various tank-mix burnoff options for combining with glyphosate to effectively control a wide range of weeds as a pre-seed application. This chart is based on a comprehensive database of over 30 herbicides that can be mixed with glyphosate to target more than 60 different weed species.
