It’s with mixed feelings we warmly welcome or say fond farewells to our changing staff in Regina and Winnipeg.
Regina correspondent Karen Briere has left on maternity leave for the next few months. Congratulations to Karen and her husband on their son born Dec. 4. Enjoy your next few months at home.
Temporarily replacing Karen in the legislative building is Ed White. Originally from Regina, Ed has his masters degree in journalism from the University of Western Ontario, and a bachelor of arts advanced degree in history from the University of Regina.

Our staff was saddened to see Laura leave. It’s always hard to say goodbye to co-workers we respect as journalists and as friends.
Best wishes, Laura, on your new job.
Starting in January, Roberta Rampton will be our new correspondent in Manitoba. Roberta grew up on a dairy and grain farm on the outskirts of Dauphin, Man., and has worked at the Dauphin Herald and the Winnipeg Free Press. She earned her journalism degree at Carleton University in Ottawa, where she was the winner of the school’s Thomson Award for Excellence in Reporting.
She has recently been working at B&B Editorial Consulting (better known as Prosebusters!), an Ottawa agency where she honed her writing skills researching, writing and editing articles, reports, speeches and the like for clients in the public and private sectors.
Welcome aboard, Roberta and Ed. We look forward to having you with us.
