Springett read A Saskatchewan Fairytale in the Aug. 6 issue, which prompted her to revise one of her own articles along similar lines, using Saskatchewan town names to build a letter. Springett lives in Moose Jaw, Sask.

Dear Francis,

I will Endeavor to tell you about a recent wedding here in Saskatchewan.

Who did Val Marie you ask? Well, she married old Prince Albert. She was really Smeaton with him. You should have seen them at the Abby. She took him by the Elbow and kissed him on the Eyebrow. It is a wonder he didn’t get Lashburn!

Rainfall can vary dramatically over a short distance. Precipitation maps can’t catch all the deviations, but they do provide a broad perspective.

The hall was nicely decorated with Carragana and White Spruce boughs. There was Plenty of food set up at the Eastend of the room. The Saskatoon pie was a hit. Anything made from that Summerberry is Popular. It was served with Carmel sauce and Edam cheese. All was washed down with Goodwater.

The young Admiral proposed the toast to the bride. At the dance Ebenezer Grenfell, Landing on his Duff.

As they left for their honeymoon, the Saskatchewan Roughrider Pennant waved from the car’s antenna. They were headed for that bridge that goes over the river with the Swift Current. I hope they don’t Kildeer on the Goodsoil that makes up the roads in these parts.

I have to go now, someone is at the door – oh, Tisdale.
