HOGS
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was not available July 1 or June 24.
U.S. hogs averaged $114.22 on a carcass basis July 1, down from $120.23 June 24.
The U.S. pork cutout was $108.75 per hundredweight July 1, down from $112.20 June 24.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to July 2 was 2.286 million, down from 2.304 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.272 million last year at the same time.
In Canada, the July 2 Signature Four price was C$247.79 per 100 kilograms, down from $248.17.

BISON
Prices offered by Canadian buyers for slaughter in Canada start at $4.25-$4.40 per pound hot hanging weight for Grade A bison bulls and $4.25 for heifers on very light trading. Canadian buyers are offering $4.60-$4.80 for prime bulls and $4.50-$4.70 for heifers for slaughter in the United States.
U.S. buyers are paying US$3.75-$4 per lb. hot hanging weight for prime bulls from Canada for U.S. slaughter, where slaughter times are booked. Heifers are being purchased at $3.50-$3.75. Returns to producers are dependent on exchange rates, quality, transportation and export costs.
LAMBS
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported that 2,531 sheep and 80 goats sold June 27.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 1,249 sheep and 274 goats sold June 27.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $160-$230 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $190-$235, 70-85 lb. were $200-$245, 86-105 lb. were $200-$263 and 106 lb. and heavier were $200-$255. Wool rams were $110-$200 per cwt. Cull ewes were $85-$181.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $150-$200 per cwt., 55-69 lb. were $180-$220, 70-85 lb. were $180-$225, 86-105 lb. were $180-$235 and 106 lb. and heavier were $180-$210. Hair rams were $113-$210 per cwt. Cull ewes were $95-$185.
