Louis Dreyfus Canada will build a high throughput grain elevator in Wilkie, Sask.

It will be the fourth prairie elevator to be built by the Calgary-based grain handling company, a subsidiary of the French multinational Louis Dreyfus Group.

The 20,000-tonne capacity steel construction elevator will receive grain beginning in August 1999. Wilkie is located about 150 kilometres west of Saskatoon.

Dreyfus is building similar-sized facilities in Rathwell and Virden, Man., and Tisdale, Sask., with all three scheduled to open this fall.
