Interlake/East
- Moisture levels are bordering on excessive, with 30 to 80 millimetres of rain creating ponds at Riverton, Arborg and Fisher Branch. Moosehorn still needs rain.
- Cereal crops are at the five leaf stage and well ahead of the rest of province. Southern parts of the Interlake are most advanced.
- Reseeding of frost-damaged canola continued at Teulon.
- Hay and pasture growth are slow.
- Herbicide applications are underway in eastern Manitoba.
- Cutworms and wireworms have been spotted.
- Winter wheat and fall rye are in good to excellent condition.

South, Red River Valley
- Canola affected by frost has been reseeded and is benefiting from good rainfall.
- Widespread reports of flea beetles and cutworms.
- Winnipeg area received up to 38.5 mm of rain and is three degrees cooler than normal.
- Some oats have been reseeded due to wild oat pressures.
West
- Hail reported at Gladstone. About 27 mm of rain fell at Brandon.
- Previously dry southwestern regions have benefited from as much as 50 mm of rain.
- A steady, 24-hour rainfall helped crops advance.
- Northwest is furthest behind in crop development.
- Plant development is variable in the southwest as farmers staggered seeding, waiting for better moisture.
- North of the Trans-Canada Highway, seeding is completed, except for green feed and forage crops.
- Flea beetles are being treated at Swan Valley.
SASKATCHEWAN
North
- Frost damage is showing up at North Battleford and Meadow Lake.
- Hay lands and pastures are improving slowly in cool spring weather but rain and heat are needed.
Central
- Crop development is delayed.
- Herbicide applications are underway.
- Crops damaged by frost are being reseeded.
- Saskatoon district is dry, with only eight mm of rain falling so far in June.
- Hail and rain showers reported around Yorkton.
South
- Good rain showers reported, with as much as 25 mm in southwest.
- Regina is two degrees cooler than normal and still dry, with only seven mm of rain this month.
- Pea leaf weevil is migrating into Maple Creek district from Alberta’s southeast.
- A cold air funnel was observed at Weyburn.
ALBERTA
Peace, Northeast
- Western areas were among the driest, but have improved with recent rainfall.
- Up to 20 mm fell in northern zones.
Central
- Red Deer, Calgary zones have high to extremely high moisture reserves, with more than 50 mm of rain falling since May 31.
- Damage reported from lightning at Camrose, high wind at Heisler and hail at Rosalind.
- Heat is needed to help crops advance.
South
- Areas have already received more than half the precipitation they normally receive in June.
- Seeding is completed.
- All regions are looking for warmer weather.
