SASKATOON (Staff) — Some cattle and agricultural shows and sales have been held recently with the following results:

At the M. C. Quantock Livestock Bull Sale Jan. 29 in Lloydminster, Sask., 550 head from four breeds sold. The 244 bulls averaged $3,026.

The high seller was $10,000 for a Red Angus bull that went to Y Coulee Land & Cattle, Frenchman Butte, Sask. The 191 bred commercial females averaged $1,496, while the 97 open commercial heifer calves averaged $939.

At the Canadian Bull Congress held recently in Camrose, Alta., the champion pen of three bulls was Kanegawa Farms, Vauxhall, Alta., ch. pen of three heifers was from Penosky Farms; ch. open pen of five from Lazy S Simmental; ch. bred pen of five from Woodwind Ranch, rancher’s choice from Miller & Northline Angus; steak challenge for best beef-Angus; best marketing-Gelbvieh.

The first Seager Wheeler predigreed seed show held in early January in Saskatoon named Bailey Brothers Seeds Inc. of Milden, Sask. as the premier exhibitor.

Other grand aggregate winners were: cereal-Milton Lepp, Hepburn, Sask., oilseed-Mike Polchinski, Saskatoon, pulse-Roland Hainsworth, Waskada, Man., and forage seed-Meron Lickacz, Calmar, Alta.
