Annual delegate elections for Saskatchewan Wheat Pool are under way in even-numbered districts. Nominations opened Jan. 12 and will close Feb. 10.

Nomination forms are available from local pool committee secretaries, delegates, district representatives and from the member relations division at head office in Regina.

In sub-districts where more than one nomination is received, an election will be held. Ballots and a brief biography of the candidates will be sent to each member in the election area by Feb. 20. Members will then have until March 18 to get ballots in.

Eligible candidates must be Class A shareholders in the pool for at least one year, be on the voting list in the sub-district and have done at least 75 percent of their aggregate farming business with the pool over the last year. At least six members in the sub-district must sign an individual’s nomination form.

Membership lists are posted at country elevator offices in the 60 sub-districts with even numbers. Delegate elections take place in half of Sask Pool’s 16 districts each year.
