The Manitoba Round Table for Sustainable Development is offering its annual scholarship to Manitoba post-secondary students pursuing studies and research into sustainable development. The application deadline is April 10.
“The scholarship award is open to eligible students focused on the spirit and principles of sustainable development in any field of study offered at an approved Manitoba post-secondary educational institution,” said provincial conservation minister Stan Struthers.
“The concept of living within the earth’s means and leaving an improved environment for future generations can be advanced through education and we are pleased to support students pursing this goal.”
The scholarship award consists of a single nonrenewable award of $4,000 to graduate students and $1,000 to undergraduate students to help cover the cost of tuition, books, fees and other education expenses.
The recipient is also recognized as the International Institute for Sustainable Development’s scholar of the year, which means he or she will receive special privileges at the institute including special access to the information centre.
