Viterra Inc. has raised $460.5 million from its recent share offering.

The deal’s underwriters exercised an over allotment option that was associated with the main $400 million share sale.

The over allotment of 4.29 million common shares brought the total number of shares issued through the offering to 32.89 million, Viterra said in a news release.

After underwriting fees and about $650,000 in expenses, the net proceeds of the sale are $441.4 million.

Money will be used for general corporate purposes, and in particular, future acquisitions.

The deal involved a syndicate of underwriters led by TD Securities Inc. and Genuity Capital Markets and that also included National Bank Financial Inc., Scotia Capital Inc., UBS Securities Canada Inc., BMO Capital Markets, HSBC Securities (Canada) Inc., and RBC Capital Markets.
