Saskatchewan has signed an agreement with Panama to help develop that country’s agricultural industry.

Economic development minister Janice MacKinnon signed the deal in Panama City late last month during a trade mission to Central America.

The agreement includes co-operation in all aspects of livestock development, agricultural biotechnology, development of value-added products, agriculture consulting services, training, research and information exchange.

The trade mission also traveled to Costa Rica and Nicaragua, where other agreements were signed.
