Rural companies win awards

A company that recycles tires is among agricultural and rural-based

companies receiving Achievement for Business Excellence, or ABEX

awards, from the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce.

R.T.G. Saskatchewan (Prairie Rubber Corp.) of Assiniboia, which

recycles used tires, was recognized in the new venture, job creation,

exports and physical environment categories. Red Coat Cattle Feeders of

Hazenmore, which created a custom feeding facility, was rewarded in the

new venture category.

Those recognized in the new Saskatchewan product group included Live

Global Communications of Moose Jaw, which created an internet system

that provides audio and video feeds, and Wynyard Technologies Inc.,

which developed a method to extract aquatic nutrients.

Also rewarded for launching a new product was Bioriginal Food and

Science Corp. of Saskatoon for its linoleic acid product.

The company also received awards in the physical environment and

innovative work systems categories, as did Sun Bridge Wind Power of

Gull Lake for wind energy systems. Stomp Pork Farm of Humboldt received

awards for job creation and community involvement.

Others receiving ABEX awards for community involvement were Mainline

Terminal Ltd. of Moosomin and the Carlton Trail Railway Company, a

short-line railway.
