Richardson International is wrapping up an expansion plan that spent $40 million on projects on the Prairies and in Ontario.

The company said in a news release that of the 16 projects slated for this year, nine are complete and the remaining seven are on track to be completed by the end of the year.

The projects will add 90,000 tonnes of capacity to Richardson elevators and increase the number of 100 car rail sidings to 27 from 20. It also added three fertilizer storage, blending and distribution centres.

The company plans further expansions for 2009.
