CALGARY (Staff) – Harold Hanna has been appointed chief returning officer for Alberta’s barley and wheat marketing referendum scheduled for Nov. 14-24.
Hanna is a former chair of the Agriculture Development Corporation, Alberta Hail and Crop Insurance Corporation and deputy minister within Alberta Agriculture in the marketing and production sector. His term runs from Sept. 29 to Dec. 15.
The vote is open to all farmers, 18 years and older, who have grown wheat or barley in the past three years. They can vote at any agriculture office or by mail-in ballot.
Mail-in ballots will be available Nov. 6.
