Agro Pacific Industries and CanGro Processors Ltd. have reached an agreement to share nutritional and technical services and research.
The deal will advance research and nutritional programs for CanGro, while Agro Pacific expects increased access to products, shared costs and expanded research activity, the companies said in a news release.
CanGro, part of Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, owns 39 percent of Agro Pacific.
Agro Pacific, based in Chilliwack, B.C., is that province’s leading feed manufacturing and agricultural supply company.
Leading the new joint project will be Mary Lou Swift.

The second and third largest dairy equipment manufacturers in the world have joined to create a new company.
Westfalia Dairy Systems, owned by Westfalia Landtechnik of Germany, has bought Babson Brothers of the United States, creating Westfalia-Surge.
Westfalia is known for its rotary milking parlors and Surge has an important market in dairy equipment and sanitation products.
Combined sales in 1998 would have been about $525 million (Cdn).

LFG, Futures Canada Inc. has opened an office in Saskatoon.
LFG or Linnco Futures Group is a commodity brokerage firm whose American parent firm is headquartered in Chicago.
Ron Styles and Alan Day will run the Saskatoon office.

United Grain Growers plans to buy Paradise Hill Agro Ltd., a crop input retailer located in northwestern Saskatchewan.
Paradise Hill Agro sells seed, farm pesticides and fertilizer in a market that extends from Paradise Hill to St. Walburg, Makwa and Meadow Lake.
Paradise Hill will begin offering UGG’s line of services over the next few months.
The management and staff of Paradise Hill Agro will join UGG and continue to operate the business in co-operation with other UGG locations.
The purchase is expected to be completed this month, subject to signing of a purchase agreement and satisfaction of due diligence conditions.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
