Peas and canola together?

Most producers wouldn’t consider a healthy canola stand growing in the midst of their peas as an agronomic victory.

But Colin Rosengren of Midale, Sask., has been experimenting with intercropping for five seasons, so when he finds wheat, lentils or chickpeas in his flax, or canola in his peas, he sees it as successful farm management and the path to higher profits.
