Parrish and Heimbecker has bought B & B Ag Service in Mossleigh, Alta., from Beagle Automotive Ltd.
The two companies had a close relationship for several years. Four years ago, B & B built a new facility for its fertilizer, seed and chemical business, P & H said in a news release.
At the same time, P & H had to close its elevator because the rail line was abandoned. To keep its farm supply business active in the region, P & H created an agreement where B & B became its exclusive agent.
Monty Beagle, previous owner-operator of B & B Ag Service, will continue as general manager for P & H and the rest of the staff will be retained. P & H sees the deal as a stepping stone to expanding its farm input business in Alberta.
