EDMONTON – The Alberta government has appointed a new chair, vice-chair and council member to the Agricultural Products Marketing Council.

Doris Ludlage (chair), Kenton Ziegler (vice-chair) and Teri McKinnon (council member) bring industry knowledge to the marketing council.

Ludlage, whose family are pork and grain producers near Elk Point, has been acting chair with the council for eight months.

McKinnon brings experience through her representation on numerous boards, including the Agriculture and Food Council of Alberta and the Calgary Stampede. She and her family operate a custom feedlot and grain operation near Carseland.

Zeigler, a grain and oilseed producer from Beiseker, is a member of the council and is being appointed as vice-chair, replacing the position previously held by Ludlage.

The Agricultural Products Marketing Council advises Alberta’s minister of agriculture on matters related to the establishment, operation and management of the 21 boards and commissions established under the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act.
