(Reuters) — Monsanto reported a higher-than-expected quarterly profit on strong sales and improved pricing of its herbicides.
It earned $909 million in the third quarter, compared with $937 million a year earlier. Sales at the agricultural productivity unit, which includes crop protection, rose 9.4 percent to $1.19 billion on higher prices for Roundup herbicide.
