Michael McCain, CEO of Maple Leaf Foods, has been appointed executive chair of the board and will continue as chief executive officer for the next year.
It’s part of the management transition plan, which will have Curtis Frank, currently the president and chief operating officer, step into the CEO role by spring 2023.
The company also reported Geoff Beattie is stepping down as chair of the board and has been appointed as independent lead director.
McCain helped guide Maple Leaf Foods through decades of transformation to become a world leader in sustainable food production.
Frank has been at the company for 21 years, serving as president and chief operating officer since 2018.
