WINNIPEG (Staff) – Manitoba’s agriculture minister is visiting Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan this week, looking for people to buy or invest in pork from his province.

Harry Enns took representatives from Manitoba Pork, J.M. Schneider, Manstock International and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce on the trade mission.

“Many Asians are looking for offshore opportunities in pork production and we can show them that Manitoba is a very attractive place to invest,” Enns said in a news release.

“Their investment capital can also help our pork industry create hundreds of additional jobs in the province.”

Enns said the trip will build on previous trade missions and visits to Manitoba from Asian delegations.
