OTTAWA (Staff) – Agriculture minister Ralph Goodale breaks in a new press secretary this week.
Vern Greenshields, former Saskatoon StarPhoenix reporter who joined Agriculture Canada early this year after the newspaper closed its Ottawa bureau, takes on the role Sept. 6.
Officially, he remains a departmental employee on loan to the minister’s office.
Greenshields replaces Mike Gillan, husband of Sen. Joyce Fairbairn, who takes over ministerial correspondence.
