Legumex Walker, the majority owner of Pacific Coast Canola in Warden, Washington, says the plant has received verification from the Non-GMO Project.
According to the non profit’s website, sales of all Non-GMO Project verified products have increased to $3.5 billion in the three years since the label was launched. In March, Whole Foods announced all products in its U.S. and Canadian stores must be labelled to indicate whether they contain genetically modified organisms.
