Gelbvieh sale averages $2,298

SASKATOON (Staff) – The fifth annual Gelbvieh sale by Triangle T of Swift Current and Davidson’s Gelbvieh of Ponteix was held last month with a total gross of $112,650. The 49 lots averaged $2,298.

The high-selling lot, a two-year-old bull, sold for $5,200 to Severson Land and Cattle, Innisfail, Alta. and Goldline Gelbvieh of Sangudo, Alta. Other high sellers were a yearling bull sold for $4,700 to Szott Cattle Co. of Daysland, Alta. and a bull for $4,200 bought by Robert and Ivy Goodbrand of Broadview, Sask. Two cow-calf pair lots sold for $2,250 each.

Volume bull buyers were PFRA pastures and Jack and Bruce Williamson of Pambrum, Sask. Volume heifer buyers were Clifford and Robert Berthot of Cochrane, Alta.
