Former UGG executive dies

SASKATOON (Staff) – William (Bud) Morken, a former vice-president of United Grain Growers and an active member of the agriculture community, died New Year’s Day. He was 67.

Besides the UGG, Morken served on the Canada Grains Council, Saskatchewan Federation of Agriculture, Hudson Bay Route Association, Canola Council of Canada, Beef Stabilization Board and Agriculture Hall of Fame board.

Morken was born on the family homestead in Sturgis, Sask. After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan he returned to the family farm at Sturgis.
