SASKATOON (Staff) –The Canadian Foodgrains Bank will supply $1.25 million in food aid to Rwanda for a year.
The food will support refugees fleeing Rwanda to Uganda, Zaire, Burundi and Kenya, said Al Kehler, projects co-ordinator.
Rwanda’s food situation was precarious even before the conflict began, the Foodgrains Bank reported. Most neighboring countries are struggling to maintain a subsistence standard, and are not in a good position to host and feed the flood of people.
