Two Saskatchewan-based agriculture industry pioneers held small events at Canada’s Farm Show in Regina late last month to celebrate the milestones.
Degelman Industries and Agtron started from humble Saskatchewan beginnings, with the first Degelman product being built by Wilf Degelman in his barn in Raymore in 1962, while the Agtron ag-tech company began in a basement in 1982.
A closed area in Young’s Equipment Lounge was used to celebrate Degelman’s 60th anniversary.
Earlier, the company officially launched its pro-cast precision granular applicator for its discs and harrows at the farm show, which it hasn’t been able to do during COVID-19.

Members of the Degelman family, management and employees were in attendance for both events. Vice-president of sales and marketing Sheldon Mohr was there for the Degelman anniversary, and for an anniversary of his own.
Degelman members who have worked for 25 years with the company were given a 25th anniversary ring and their names and background added to a commemorative Degelman history book signed by 91-year-old Wilf Degelman.
“I’m over the top,” said Mohr. “It’s the coolest thing. It’s part of the legacy and we’re very, very proud to be here.”
“They’ve given me a very good opportunity to be part of the team, part of the family. For me personally, it’s very, very exciting.”
The Agtron event was taken in by president Bill Baker and Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada president Donna Boyd, among others.
“Agtron’s achievements and commitment to quality over the past 40 years have contributed strongly to Canada’s reputation of having the highest quality and most sought out agricultural equipment in the world,” said Boyd.
