Fire delays Western Producer

Some Western Producer subscribers may have received their Dec. 21 issue of the newspaper a little late this week, possibly at the same time as they received the issue you’re reading now.

We apologize for that inconvenience but we have a good excuse.

A fire in the Western Producer building in Saskatoon Dec. 19 suspended operations for a day and delayed mailing of the Dec. 21 issue.

The fire damaged a press owned and operated by PrintWest Communications, which shares the building with the Western Producer. Part of the roof was also damaged. Estimates on losses were not available at press time, but no one was injured in the fire.

Western Producer publishing operations were not affected.

The one-day hiatus in operations allowed us to collect more news, which we present on pages 2, 3 and 63. The rest of this issue is a special themed edition.

We hope you enjoy it.
