WINNIPEG (Reuters) – Maple Leaf Foods Inc. saw a 12 percent rise in third-quarter profits, but higher energy costs and lower commodity prices limited returns, Canada’s largest food processor reported last week.
Toronto-based Maple Leaf earned $30.1 million or 23 cents per share, up from $26.7 million, or 23 cents a share, in the same period last year.
