The Nipawin Biomass Ethanol New Generation Co-operative is acquiring land for its proposed plant.

The 120 acres are 2.5 kilometres south of Nipawin, Sask.

SaskPower now owns the land and has agreed to sell it to the Rural Municipality of Nipawin, which in turn has a conditional sales agreement with the co-operative.

“This land location covers all the key elements necessary for the successful operation of a biomass ethanol plant, using agricultural and forestry wastes as its feedstock,” said Sherry Michalyca, economic development officer for the RM of Nipawin and co-operative treasurer.

The conditional sales agreement is subject to an environmental assessment and the finalization of capital funding for the plant.

Paradigm will offer consultations and a range of products and services to Manitoba hog producers, including vaccines, disinfectants and prescribed medications.

The operation will be managed from the Nutri-Health offices under the direction of Nutri-Health chief executive officer Cal Funk.
