Ethanol project planned
Tisdale Alfalfa Dehy Ltd. and regional farmers and investors are planning a wheat-based ethanol plant for northeastern Saskatchewan to be called Ensask Biofuels Ltd.
The preliminary plan calls for it to produce 90 million litres of ethanol a year at Tisdale.
An offering memorandum has been filed for sale of first preferred share units. The goal is to raise a minimum of $4 million and a maximum of $6 million to be used as seed capital to develop the project, including engineering and process design work.

The share units are priced at $5 each and include one first preferred share, series one, and one preferred share purchase warrant. The minimum investment is $10,000.

Processor, marketer merge
Lakeside Processors in Dafoe, Sask., and Lakeside Pulse and Special Crops Ltd. have merged to form Lakeside Global Grains.
“Consolidating the plant and export operations strengthens both aspects of the business,” said president and managing director John Cales, in a News release

The company buys and processes peas, lentils, canola, flax, mustard and coriander seed produced in Saskatchewan and Alberta. It sells to 35 countries.
The marketing and administrative offices are in Winnipeg.
New fertilizer blender
DynAgra has opened a $600,000 fertilizer blending plant in Carseland, Alta.
The plant’s continuous rotary process can blend and move 250-300 tonnes of dry fertilizer per hour, or about three times faster than the company’s previous plant, said a News release
news.
The new operation also has a larger storage facility.
DynAgra will assess the viability of running the plant 24 hours a day. It is fully automated and there is potential for customers to serve themselves, much like at a petroleum cardlock facility.
