Canada might make it easier for temporary foreign workers to get permanent residency and eventual citizenship.
The TFW program is of interest to farmers and agricultural processors who suffer labour shortages.
Immigration Minister John McCallum said on CTV’s Question Period the government is “considering providing a pathway to permanent residence” to workers, but added he awaits a parliamentary report on the matter.
