Federated Co-operatives Ltd. is providing $1 million for the Co-op Community Spaces Program this year.
Registered non-profit organizations, registered charities or community service co-operatives can apply online between Feb. 1 and March 1.
The money is available to support capital projects dedicated to recreation, environmental conservation and urban agriculture.
Funding between $25,000 and $150,000 is available per project.
The program was launched in 2015 to help protect, beautify and improve local spaces. It has provided $11.5 million to 160 projects across Western Canada in the communities served by local Co-ops, such as educational spaces, community gardens, and recreational facilities.
