Producers will gather in 86 Canadian community centres Jan. 23 to discover what might be in store for them in agriculture in 2008.
Farm Credit Canada is hosting the new Ag Day in Canada afternoon meetings, which are expected to attract up to 8,500 people.
Lane Stockbrugger, an FCC AgriSuccess manager in Regina, said each meeting will be led by a local host and will present a DVD featuring interviews with experts.
He said it’s a great opportunity for FCC to recognize those involved in agriculture and present a lively outlook for the 2008 production year.

Meetings will explore how to develop marketing plans and attract and retain labour and look at alternative fuel and its impacts and the factors behind fluctuating land values. Producers can also take a short quiz to learn more about making farms accident free.
Production outlooks will focus on crop varieties, with an emphasis on wheat, barley and canola in the West and corn in the East.
FCC’s vision panel findings will also be presented, featuring what 8,500 producers believe are the most important issues of the day.
