A good off-farm business to get into this summer might be elevator painting.
At least 24 primary elevators across Western Canada will be changing their colours as a result of Saskatchewan Wheat Pool’s successful takeover bid for Agricore United.
To satisfy the federal Competition Bureau and to entice James Richardson International to withdraw its competing bid, the Pool struck deals to sell 24 of AU’s elevators to competitors.
Fifteen will be sold to JRI, while nine will go to Cargill Ltd., as announced by the Pool in late March.
