Dealers merge

John Deere equipment dealers are merging in Saskatchewan.

The merged operation will be known as South Country Equipment and have a staff of 115.

The merger will involve South Country Equipment’s operations in Moose Jaw, Mossbank and Assiniboia, and Watson Tractor and Equipment and Watson Distributors of Regina and Weyburn.

Staff members will be unchanged with the exception of Rick Watson, who will leave to develop other Watson business interests and Doug Thompson, who will become the company’s Regina ag sales and store manager.

Thompson and Greg Watson, Rick’s son, are the two new partners in the company.
