SASKATOON (Staff) – Thirty-one nominations have been filed for the Canadian Wheat Board advisory committee.

Although not all of them have been verified, the co-ordinator of the producers’ vote said it appears elections will be held in every wheat board district this fall.

“There’s far more than one person in every district” applying for the candidacy, said B. C. Lemon.

Four years ago, four out of 11 districts had acclamations, and Lemon admitted he was worried about this year’s numbers. However, most nominations came in last week.

More than 123,000 farmers are eligible this fall to vote for committee members, whose terms will begin in January.
