The Agriculture and Food Council has appointed John J. Connolly as its executive director.
Connolly has worked in senior management positions with the federal government, including most recently as special adviser with the International Markets Bureau and director of market development for the Asia-Pacific region.
He was awarded the Citation of Excellence by Parks Canada, the Departmental Award of Excellence from Canadian Heritage and the Excellence Award from Agriculture Canada.
He started his new job last month.
The council’s mandate is to find ways to make Alberta’s agriculture and food industry globally competitive, profitable and sustainable.
