A scholarship program for high school students, sponsored by ConAgra Grain Canada and Cropmate, will become an annual event, ConAgra said in a February news release.

Initially offered last year to mark construction of ConAgra’s three new grain terminals in Saskatchewan, the program’s success prompted its continuation, the release said.

High school students in the drawing area of ConAgra grain terminals in Corinne, Nokomis and Yorkton, Sask., plus those in the Brandon-Souris region, will be eligible to apply for scholarships of $2,000 each.

Criteria include academic excellence, community spirit and an interest in an agricultural career. Deadline for applications is March 31, with winners announced at the end of June.

For more information on the program, call Carrie Shlaikjar at ConAgra in Winnipeg, at 204-942-5550.
