The Saskatchewan Food Processors Association has issued its 2004-05 membership directory.
The 16-page booklet lists 200 Saskatchewan food companies that have SFPA memberships or associate memberships. The list contains contact information for each member and describes each company’s products.

Communication award
Farm Credit Canada chief executive officer John Ryan has won the 2004 EXCEL Excellence in Communication Leadership award.
Sponsored by the International Association of Business Communicators, the award recognizes CEOs who champion effective communication throughout their organizations.
Ryan, originally from Mulgrave, N.S., joined FCC in 1997. He is an active leader of the corporation’s external communications programs, speaking at key agricultural events and meeting with industry partners, customers and producer groups across Canada.
He received the award at the IABC’s international conference in Los Angeles on June 7, where he addressed more than 1,400 delegates.
Fertilizer institute award
Richard Lussier has won the Canadian Fertilizer Institute’s 2003 Prairie Provinces Certified Crop Adviser of the Year award.
The Agricore United agronomist provides agronomic consulting to company staff and clients in the Peace River region. His areas of interest include improving forage seed production, developing now-standard techniques that better predict and manage potential problems with herbicide residues, and maintaining a strong network among researchers, agronomist and growers.
Lussier studied at the University of Alberta and has been a certified crop adviser, or CCA, since 1997. He is based in Grande Prairie, Alta.
The CCA program is a professional certification that is designed to improve the skills of individuals working in the crop production, fertilizer, soil conservation and pest management industries.
