The Climate Action Initiative has launched a new British Columbia Agriculture and Food Climate Action Initiative website.
The website at www.bcagclimateaction.ca provides information for B.C. farmers, ranchers and food processors.
It is intended to provide information regarding why climate change matters, its impact on the agricultural and food sectors and actions that can be taken.
Featured topics include energy efficiency and renewable energy production, carbon effects, management practices for emission reduction and climate change adaptation.
The website also provides links to related initiatives, information on related upcoming events and potential funding sources available for climate change initiatives.
The Climate Action Initiative was launched 16 months ago as a way to identify and analyze the effects of climate change and associated public policy on the agricultural and food processing sectors.
It is an undertaking of the B.C. Agriculture Council and the Investment Agriculture Foundation of B.C., with funding provided by Agriculture Canada and the B.C. agriculture ministry.
