Work on the Wheatland Wind Project is almost complete near Drumheller, Alta.

A 122.4 megawatt wind power plant received approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission in 2018, and installation of 24 Siemens Gamesa 5.0 MW wind turbines is expected to be complete and operational by the end of the year.
